Berggasthof Herzberg in Bad Homburg

Friday walk from the Saalburg to the Herzberg Nice excursion restaurant with a distant view. The food was good and the service was courteous and humorous. We had the schnitzel. Fortunately it wasn't that crowded. By the way, thanks to the bark beetle you can see the whole Rhine-Main area again. Compared to before, you now have completely different impressions of the landscape.

Food is delicious. Despite rainy weather and Corona already quite full. But quickly got a place for two. The wait staff are friendly and the service is generally quick and assiduous.

Very large crowds very close together (20 people in 2 rows shoulder to shoulder). In Corona times, this is more than questionable. We have waited so long for the menu that we lost our interest in the restaurant and left without having achieved anything.

Very nice to relax, very attentive, nice service staff, the best "heaven and earth" ?and special requests are courteously fulfilled. In addition, a wonderful view of wonderful nature. Like vacation - beautiful home.

The view is great but the food leaves a lot to be desired! There you have chanterelle specialties e.g. a soup on the menu and you are served a BAG SOUP that has never seen a real mushroom. Sorry, but that's a NO GO! Two mushrooms would have breathed a little life into the soup!

Until today I was not a fan of napkin dumplings, but since my visit to the Berggasthof Herzberg, I have had to change my mind. The chef here knows what he's doing, my compliments. Well, the most important in brief: Very friendly, reserved, fast and competent service. About the restaurant: The Berggasthof is not easy to find, it was only my mother who discovered it. The interior is not modern but fits the concept. Conclusion: For a long time the best meal with typical German cuisine in which I have been a guest for a long time (opinion). There is only forest around the guest yard, with a wonderful "vision" this circumstance and the peace and quiet create a wonderful feeling during your stay. Clear recommendation!

Nice cozy restaurant right next to the observation tower. Super delicious food. The best place to stop for a break if you are hiking or cycling in the area.

As always, a relaxed calm with a view, delicious food after a short hike. Very friendly staff, quick service. Prices affordable. Dogs allowed. you park in the parking lot Silberküppel, it is this far 1.5 km uphill hiking.

Fortunately we had reserved an outdoor table with a wonderful view. Unfortunately it was around 6pm Fried potato Mashed potatoes The young man who was really trying to use the tables was visibly overwhelmed. However, these mistakes would be made up for by the quality of the kitchen. Classic hunter's schnitzel has Bundesliga quality. The two trout were excellently prepared and seasoned very well ... only with sea salt and parsley in golden yellow butter with potatoes ... 3 stars ...

We walked comfortably from the Saalburg to the Herzberg tower. And there we stopped in the beer garden of the mountain inn. You sit nice and the food was great. The cake was also very tasty. Always worth a trip.

Nice service and after the "climb" you can treat yourself to delicious cakes as a reward ... The salads for the neighboring tables applied from the gap also made a very good impression ... ... maybe next time ... ?

Very nice inn, ideal destination for a short hike from the Saalburg. Food was really, very good, the chef understands his craft ? Reservation is recommended, especially on holidays and weekends very crowded .... Nevertheless, the waiters were very nice and the food came quickly. We will be back!

Food was tasty and ready quite fast. The service was attentive and kind. Great place to stop by for a refreshment while hiking or cycling or for lunch. Being dressed up in cycling outfit is no problem here. Climb the tower adjacent to the restaurant for great views of Frankfurt and the area.

Excellent location, friendly and effective service, and a surprisingly good kitchen. Well worth the hike uphill, and for people who are so inclined it is also possible to reach the location with car.
